Every time a project like this comes across my desk I tend to perk up. South East Asian music has interested me for years, not just in terms of the final products sonic imprint but also for its rich musical culture and systems of musical education. Asli Baat both challenged me to create sonic environments that their modern American pop music could shine but also in which their more traditional chanting could also live. I’m delighted with the result.
I edited and mixed Dark Horse/Jiya Jale and I Care. Recording by Bri Holland, other editing/mixing by Brandon Griffin of The Vocal Company. Mastering by Dave Sperandio of Vocal Mastering.
