Pitch, Please! – Taal

The latest release from Taal, an Indo-American a cappella team from Purdue University.

Following their release of their video, Alive / Subha Hone Na De / Don’t You Worry Child, Taal is here with their album. This project is filled with mashups between Indo-hits and American-chart-toppers. We had as much fun recording these tracks as I’ve been having playing them back in the studio.

I recorded, edited, and mixed the album with the exception of Alive / Subha Hone Na De / Don’t You Worry Child, which was edited by Bri Holland. Mastering by Vocal Mastering.

Unaccounted For – The Brown Derbies

The latest release from The Brown Derbies, an a cappella group out of Brown University in Providence, RI.

This is the second project I worked on with the Derbies, following their album Derbyhaus. This one features many of the same guys from that project as they’ve grown and assumed leadership roles, as well as a whole new class of Derby wearing dudes. While they’re style might be classic, their song choice is full of some contemporary bangers. Of course, what Derbies’ album is complete without a signature “telephone message” – check out this album’s take of ‘Hotline Bling’.

I recorded, edited, and mixed this album, with the exception of Chandelier and Not In That Way, which were recorded by Bri Holland. The album was mastered by Eric Scholz.

Bulleya / Malang – Asli Baat

The latest release from Asli Baat, a South Asian a cappella group from The University of Southern California, in Los Angeles, CA.

Just in time for the return to school, Asli Baat has released their second single of the summer. This one features a little less English but just as much beat – it was stuck in my head for days. Again, it was great to work alongside Bri Holland on these tracks. It was also cool to get a peak behind the scenes with the group in the YouTube interviews they put out to accompany this video – check them out.

I edited the track. It was recorded and mixed by Bri Holland.

Pray You Catch Me / Sweet Dreams – Asli Baat

The latest release from Asli Baat, a South Asian a cappella group from The University of Southern California, in Los Angeles, CA.

With a healthy dose of summer left, Asli Baat is back with a mashup that had me bopping along long before it went up for stream. I was stoked when producer Bri Holland asked me if I could jump on this project and do some editing on it. I had a fun time working on their EP ABCD and was happy to be working on the groups voices again.

I edited the track. It was recorded and mixed by Bri Holland.

Alive / Subha Hone Na De / Don’t You Worry Child – Taal

The latest release from Taal a co-ed Indo-American a cappella team from Purdue University.

It’s always cool to see music I work on get the full cinematic treatment. It feels double as cool when the singers I work on the recording with are the stars of the video. Taal’s mashup, singing styles, and videography are all pulling from an Indo-aesthetic that I’m always excited to have more experience working alongside.

I recorded and mixed this track. Editing was done by Bri Holland. Mastering by Vocal Mastering.

Change – FReestyle

The latest release from FReestyle, an a cappella summer program, founded and directed by Bri Holland in Pittsburgh, PA.

This track is the work of the fifth annual FReestyle summer program. This was the third year I got to be involved in the program. This year, I again not only got to talk about recording and workshop the students on their arrangements, but I also got to work with each student individually, tracking their part for this single. It was a pleasure getting to know these young people and seeing them grow as a musical community.

As a note – All of the proceeds from sales of this track go straight back into funding an even better program for the kids at Franklin Regional Schools this coming summer.

I recorded this track and edited the video. Bri Holland arranged, edited, and mixed it. It was masted by Dave Sperandio.

STOMPA – FReestyle

The latest release from FReestyle, an a cappella summer program, founded and directed by Bri Holland in Pittsburgh, PA.

This track is the work of the fourth annual FReestyle summer program. This was the second year I got to be involved in the program. This year, I not only got to talk about recording and workshop the students on their arrangements, but I also got to work with each student individually, tracking their part for this single. I can’t believe how interest/talent rises with this group, year after year. I’m excited to hear back from these students and hope they keep singing in college and beyond.

As a note – All of the proceeds from sales of this track go straight back into funding an even better program for the kids at Franklin Regional Schools this coming summer.

I recorded this track. Bri Holland arranged, edited, and mixed it. It was masted by Dave Sperandio.
