While I have been working with Yale a cappella groups for almost a decade, this is the first album I’ve worked on with Mixed Company. They’ve got a tight jazz-pop sound that reminds me of some of my favorite Bulldogs. Check out one of the group’s musical team member’s, Sofía Campoamor’s, original song, Asking For A Friend.
I edited and mixed this album. It was mastered by Eric Scholz.
Whenever I hear the letters SOB, I can’t help but think of a special group of guys I spent some time recording an album with. That album, Some Pig!, continues to be a favorite. This album follows in many of the same traditions the first one I worked on followed. Not only does it stay true to SOB form, featuring some of my favorite arrangements, but the cannon has been widened, first by men and now by song. Going Stag is a type of oral history and all around good time.
I edited this album. Ed Boyer mixed it.
The Whiffenpoofs are a new group each and every year, comprised of seniors from the various groups at Yale. Not only do they travel the world, but are known for a few of their original songs, like The Whiffenpoof Song. Check out musical director, Solon Snider’s original song, I’m Ready Now. It is a worthy addition to the one hundred and eight years of repertoire.
I edited six of the tracks. Recording and the rest of the editing by Alex Green and Alex Koutzoukis. Mixing by Ed Boyer. Mastering by Dave Sperandio.
